One bad claim got you down?

One unexpected lost-time claim can greatly impact your workers’ comp premiums and your future group-rating status. However, there is a new BWC offering – the One Claim Program (OCP) – that may be a rating option for employers who have a significant claim entering their experience.

OCP is a voluntary rate program designed to help employers deal with the financial impact of one significant claim and its effect on the company’s group-rating status. The new initiative will allow an employer with only one significant claim into a BWC group. Eligible employers will receive a 40-percent discount off their base rate while the claim remains in the experience period. Employers also may participate in BWC’s Drug-Free Workplace Program or Drug-Free EZ, and stack the drug-free premium discount on top of the OCP discount.
