Since its inception in 1987, the Weatherhead 100 has been the event that showcases the fastest growing companies in Northeast Ohio. Qualifying companies must show consistent growth over the last five years. The Weatherhead 100 list is a testament to hard work, commitment, innovation, and the dream to succeed.

For the second consecutive year, 1-888-OHIOCOMP has been named to the Inc. 5000 listing of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.

The 2010 list of companies is a reflection of changes in the economy over the past three years. This year, the business products and services industry had the most companies on the list, surpassing IT services, the leader in 2008 and 2009. The fastest-growing industry sector by number of firms on the list was government services. Government services was also the second fastest-growing sector by median three-year growth rate.

The Inc. list debuted in 1981 as a ranking of the 100 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. The following year, it expanded to the Inc. 500 and, in 2007, the Inc. 5000 was created. In 2009, 1-888-OHIOCOMP first made the Inc. 5000 listing. In 2004 and 2005, 1-888-OHIOCOMP was named to the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) - Inc. Magazine Inner City 100 listing. The competition honored the nation's top 100 companies for their success in creating jobs, income, and wealth for inner-city residents.

The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. Additionally, companies must be U.S.-based, private, for profit, and independent as of December 31, 2008.

The Third Annual Inc. 500/5000 Conference and Awards Ceremony was held Sept. 23 – 25 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
